Last Minute Gifts

For some reason I wait until the very last minute to buy the stocking stuffer gifts, yet I feel that they are just as, if not more important, than the bigger gift items that sit under the tree. Here are a few giftable treats that I wouldn't mind being hung upon the mantle.

Roam

I believe the lyrics are "Roam if you want to, roam around the world". For all the travelers in your life, you might want to head over to Luckies of London for a supreme collection of unique gift items that any traveler would cherish. How about a cork board pin atlas, a scratch off atlas, or travel stickers to adorn all your pieces of luggage?!

Gadgets & Stuff

I am the first to admit that I am a far cry from a techie. Besides having a handful of phone cases that I randomly rotate, I don't really pride myself on being up on design in the tech field. But when I came across these USB bungee cords from Yamamoto Industries, I couldn't help but want one! Stocking stuffer idea... hint, hint.

Spotlight: Wai Ming

I recently came across Emily Brady Koplar's clothing line, Wai Ming, and fell hard for her dresses. Utterly sophisticated, yet easily wearable. Her Katrina dress {top left} is a dream. I want to wear this dress all Winter long. I feel Emily has a real knack for fabrics, as she seems to have picked so many buttery looking textiles to represent her collection. I can't wait to see what she has coming out for Spring 2014.

Sail Away

The 34th America's Cup is over for the Bay Area {and the rest of the world, for that matter}, but that doesn't mean you can't keep the sentiment close with Prada's limited edition fragrance- Luna Rossa. Though technically created for Men, I have heard of many women equally appreciating the scent. Touching upon orange essence, clary sage, and lavender, this is sure to be a hit on or off the boat.

Luna Rossa is sold exclusively at Macy's.

Fashion Review: Bottega Veneta

Though the fashion weeks are long gone, I realized I still had quite a few snaps from some collections, including Bottega Veneta. Bottega is one of those brands that is never a-miss for me. One day, I imagine stocking my closet with woven classics, and pleated pretties. Until then, the runway recap will have to do...

Chunky Monkey

Don't you just love Google? My favorite is the "image" search tab. Recently on another random search, I came across these cool, chunky bracelets from Deezdoggs. I love the 90's surfer chic meets rapper vibe of them!

Glamorama: Take Two

I was fortunate enough to attend Macy's Glamorama event, held at the legendary Orpheum Theatre in downtown San Francisco, for the second year in a row. This year Sheryl Crow was headlining along with other talented acts from Cirque du Soleil, and The Summer Set to round out an action packed event. It felt great to help be a part of something that benefits three amazingly worthy causes in the Bay Area- Project Open Hand, The AIDS Emergency Fund, and GLIDE Foundation. A very special thanks to Macy's for pulling together the most glamorous night in SF Fashion. Here are a few of my snaps from the evening...

Fashion Review: Aquilano Rimondi

Aquilano Rimondi, I love you. The Spring Summer collection was reminiscent of Prada, and not in the least is that a bad thing. I was obsessed with the ruffle pieces, satin fabrics, and applique bralettes. The colors worked together in complete harmony, and I am smitten. I want it all.

Fashion Review: Alberta Feretti

Alberta Feretti never disappoints. Her designs are very much in line with what I like, so it's easy for her collections to always get an A+ from me. Spring/ Summer 2014 was no exception. I love the black and white with floral detail textiles. The dresses were easy, and perfect for warm weather.

Fashion Review: Alexander Wang

I love Alexander Wang's design aesthetic- super clean, yet unbelievable stylish. His pieces evoke minimalistic ease. I loved a few looks from his S/S14 collection so much- the stylish pajama short set? I'm in. What I did not enjoy were some of the models- a bit too zombie-ish looking for me.

Deodo(RANT)

With all the deodorant options on the market today, one would think it would be easy to find one that suits your needs- but no! It is actually much harder than it seems if you are looking for healthy choices, and are trying to steer clear of parabens and aluminum. If you you swing by any random drug store, you will see tons of plausible options- yet, I can almost guarantee that the majority of them contain horrible, toxic ingredients. This is why I turned to natural and holistic choices. However, everywhere I looked it seemed the only choices were to buy a natural deodorant that wore off in about an hour, and left me more smelly, or suck it up and buy the toxic variety that worked. Personally for me, the latter is not an option anymore. I then became a master of layering two different types of natural deodorants- topped with a powder to boot! I was tired of all the hassle just to remain fairly un-smelly throughout the duration of the day.

Luckily, I remembered reading about Lavanila. They were nice enough to send me over a sample to test out. I am really very surprised, and happy with the way to deodorant has worked so far. First off, it smells great and is completely free of aluminum and parabens. Hooray! They have five total yummy scented options that I cannot wait to try. I am also a sucker for the pretty packaging and unique design. Do you have any favorite deodorants/ healthy alternatives?

Fashion Review: Peter Som

I have slowly been delving into the process of reviewing all the fashion shows from the Spring Summer 2014 collections that took place in NY the past couple of weeks- it is no easy feat! I start with my favorite designers, and that's why Peter Som is up first. Peter grew up in San Francisco, so for some reason I feel like we are kindred spirits. For his Spring Summer 2014 collection, he showed relaxed styles with fun, beach-chic worthy prints. Just my style.
