Ella, Ella, Ay...

Marisol is a company I recently came across when searching out African wax print textiles. Not only are the handmade {in Brooklyn} umbrellas absolutely stunning, but 20% of net profits will go to survivors of sexual violence in The Democratic Republic of the Congo. You can twirl your umbrella with pride knowing you support a company with such a great mission.

Washington School House Rocks

I am always interested in how boutique hotels go about creating interiors and identities that make them feel oh-so-cozy. My interest piqued when I came across the Washington School House Hotel in Park City, Utah. I have never been to Park City, but it is on my list- especially to go for Sundance. The interior of this hotel is very warm & homey, but also magical with metallic touches of whimsy. Between a reading nook window bed, crystalized antler chandeliers, and pop art in between two beds, I want to live here!

Royals

I was lucky enough to stumble upon a few African wax print companies in recent weeks. One of my absolute favorites is The Royal Native. While shorty shorts generally tend to freak me out, I am starting to wonder if these are just so darn cool that I might have to throw caution to the wind and go for it!

Pillow People

Chocolates and flowers? Puh-leeze! How about something more along the lines of hand embroidered pillows made by local artisans in northern India? That sounds more like it! Leah Singh's geometric wool pillows are beautifully made, and currently on my must-have list for Valentine's Day.

Spotlight: Bianca Milov

I love the geometric crystal Bianca Milov necklaces. When I went to her site, I saw she also makes some adorable star necklaces. Since I am a star addict, these were the stand out pieces for me. Check out her whole jewelry line yourself here.

Spotlight: Basil Racuk

I first saw a Basil Racuk women's leather shopper tote featured in a magazine. The tote was simple. It had clean lines, and you could tell it was made with excellent care. I thought it could be promising, so I cut it out and added it to my pile of things to look up. Well, I finally got around to looking it up, and the rest of Basil's pieces do not disappoint either. In fact, I like them a thousand times more. I think his {technically} men's bags are my favorite. Simple, elegant, chic. Everything I want in a bag- no logos & insanely well made. I want.

Helmet Heads

I will admit that I didn't watch the big game on Sunday. Mostly because the 49ers didn't make it this year, and I didn't feel any overall ties to either the Broncos or the Seahawks. I did however come across the collaboration between the CFDA & Bloomingdale's, and if the players wore these helmets, I might have been more inclined to watch. Here are a few of my favorites...

Nicole Miller, Fenton/Fallon
Alice + Olivia, Steven Alan
Dannijo, Eugenia Kim
Billy Reid, Alejandro Inglemo
