Floral Finds

I have been coming across some wildly beautiful flowers here in SF- the colors are so vibrant and intense. Here are a few of my favorites below. If anyone knows what the large sunflower- like ones are please share, I would love to know.

Tuned In

The first time I heard this song, I was done... the beats and melodies are woven together like butter. I could listen to it over an over, and so it has remained a perpetual favorite on my playlists. It feels very appropriate to share since I am in San Francisco now- the only exception being I have never felt a warm San Francisco night. It is usually mighty chilly here.

Make Scents

I hopped over to Neiman Marcus today because {I used to work in their children's department in Hawaii} they have a bunch of my favorite labels all under one roof. It's also very clean and organized, which is always appreciated. When I was passing through the cosmetics section, I noticed the beautiful turquoise green bottle of Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino and thought I would give it a whirl. At first, I thought it was way too overpowering, but after a few minutes it settled into a wonderful floral. It has been about three hours since I sprayed it, and it is still going strong- which I love. I am now adding it to my list of favorite fragrances. Once again, good job Tom!

Sightseeing: Britex

Over the past two weeks I have been in San Francisco, I have noticed quite a few funny things about this city. The most pertinent to me being that they definitely don't mess around with parking rules- which has me moving my car oh say, every two hours. That is, unless I can find a spot on a few special streets nearby. So whenever I have to move it, I take mini trips within the city because unlike NYC, you cannot walk from place to place. Today I headed over to the Union Square area to hit up Britex fabrics. Britex has been on my list of places to visit for quite some time. And although it is no Mood, it does hold a very certain charm that Mood does not- and this I enjoyed.

Sightseeing: Jeremy's

Yesterday, I finally made my way over to {quite possibly} my favorite place in San Francisco, Jeremy's. I love the wood, brick, and metal racks decor of the store- and, of course, all the lovely pieces of clothing and accessories that fill it. If I planned on staying in San Francisco, I would have to find some way of working here because all my money would go to them anyway!

High Road

I have learned quite a few things about people over the past few weeks... you can't give out anymore than you get back, that sometimes they often don't do the right thing, and when in doubt, {even though it is very difficult} it is sooo much better to take the high road. It might be hard, but in the end you come out on top- and the view can be mighty pretty!

The Bay

Well things clearly don't always work out the way you think they will. I have been in San Francisco for a few days now, and my life seems to have a huge feeling of unsettlement- which in turn, has caused some definite anxiety...

I had a more than decent lead on a job that sadly fell through the first day I arrived. At this point, I am not sure where to live because I do not know where I will be able to find work. Quite the catch 22. In the meantime, I have been taking a bunch of yoga and meditation classes, as well as journeying on day trips (in between applying for jobs) all over California. I spent a day in Marin- which is a beautiful, short trip from SF. Yesterday, I went down to the Santa Cruz area (love), and I headed east over the bay bridge on Wednesday. I just keep telling myself if it is meant to be something will come about. Here are a few snaps from my travels...

California Dreamin'

After a week of non-stop driving, I have officially passed the California border. Temperatures hit 100 degrees by 9 am, and we took refuge at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs- which has been a pretty fantastic experience. From the interior design, to their food at the King's Highway restaurant, I am definitely recommending it to everyone I know. Here are a few snaps from Ace...

Day 1 & 2

This has marked the second day of my road trip and I have already seen a ton! I don't have as much time as I thought I would to post, but I am going to try and organize my photos as much as possible to highlight the trip. Yesterday we made it through NY, NJ, and Pennsylvania, and today we conquered Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and made some headway through Iowa. So far I have not tired of the endless open roads- I discovered an appreciation for cheesy, imitation food products with awesome packaging {please see The Weekender potato chips below}, saw the world's largest truck stop, and taken just about all my photos with my hipstamatic app- because honestly, everything looks better with hipstamatic.
