Spotlight: Bamboo Pink

I met the lovely Debbie of Bamboo Pink back in April at Lucky's FABB blogger conference- we actually ended up sitting across from each other at lunch. When I came back home and started to go through my card contacts, I went to Bamboo Pink's website where I was pleasantly surprised... they have an beautiful selection of jewelry at wallet friendly prices. I couldn't help but think how great this site is for present buying- graduation or bridesmaid gifts anyone? Here are a few of my favorite pieces...

Duets

I came across the new Clarins limited edition Crystal Lip Balms the other day, and thought they looked so neat- and a perfect summer treat! These lip duos, available in four knock-out shades, feature the lipstick component on the inside and the glossy topcoat on the outside. I think they look so fun!

Happy Memorial Day

Amongst the hot dogs, beach trips, and festivities let us please take a moment to remember those who have fought and died to make this country truly the land of the free. You are not forgotten. Happy Memorial Day!

A Memorable Memorial

Though the fashion stigma of wearing white only between Memorial Day and Labor Day has long been ruled unjust, I feel like many still follow the rule. How do you feel? Do you toss caution to the wind and wear your white proud all year long, or do you pack your white away until warmer days have arrived?

Whatever your inner fashion compass states, I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend and kick off to my favorite season- Summer!

Got You Covered

I have been a fan of The Kooks for quite some time now... their lighthearted lyrics and stellar beats always put me in a great mood. Well, not too long ago I came across their cover of Pete Bjorn & John's "Young Folks" and it quickly became a favorite. And now, I just discovered two more of their covers- MGMT's "Kids" and Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks". Where ever you are this weekend, make sure you crank up these bad boys cause they are sure to be instant crowd pleasers {click below to listen}.

Spotlight: Alice McCall

I am in awe of how many great designers and labels are based in Australia. I am constantly finding new loves- like today's Alice McCall spotlight. I am pretty sure I must plan a trip there soon, and make sure I bring an empty suitcase to bring back all my finds! Here are my favorites from Alice's Fall Winter 2012 collection...

Playing House

Whew! I finally got around to making a dent in my stack of magazines. The March issue of Elle Decor, which had a feature on Jackie Astier's New York apartment, was definitely a stand-out in my mind. The extremely lush and textural landscape left me wanting to cover everything in velvet. I invite Jackie to decorate my future house anytime!

Flattery

If it's true that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Isabel Marant must be, well, pretty damn smitten. Her "Bobby" and "Bekket" sneaker styles have run amuck through the fashion community causing a flurry of fun, and affordable options. Here are a few of my favorite interpretations...

I have a seriously love for Repetto flats. They are made extremely well, and will always be a timeless classic in my book. I currently have a yellow metallic gold pair, but I am always on the hunt for new ones. Here are a few of the fun styles that are currently available.

Morning Beauty

This editorial from the April 2007 issue of British Vogue of Milla Jovovich, shot by Carter Smith and styled by Evyan Metzner, will always remain near and dear to my heart because when I was freelancing at SELF, this was one of the projects I helped call in samples for {Evyan is a contributor for British Vogue}. The styling is so damn good, and Milla looks like such a nostalgic beauty.
