Really, Kiely Clean

We are a house that lives by the method that Method products are the go-to in cleaning supplies. You name it, we got it- laundry detergent, hand soap, dish soap, shower cleaner, all purpose cleaner, and the list goes on... their products not only perform well, they are the most natural and yummy smelling on the market. It also doesn't hurt that their packaging is unique, clean, and begs to be displayed. I just heard that they collaborated with Orla Kiely and the result is pretty cool. It you haven't converted yet, you might want to think about it! Check out these snazzy suds...

Spotlight: Brochu Walker

A few weeks back I was lucky enough to snag an awesome cashmere tank top at a stellar price. I had never heard of the label, Brochu Walker, but was instantly in love with the quality and simplicity of the tank. When I checked out their website, the love only got deeper. To say I am in love with the Summer 2012 collection is an understatement... I want every. single. piece. in my closet- especially that color block top. Plus, the model's hair is kind of amaze, right? Here are a few of my favorite looks from Summer 2012...

A Year Later...

I can't believe one year ago I was trucking it across the beautiful U.S. of A. Sometimes it feels like it was so long ago, and others, like it was just yesterday. SO many dramatic, life changing events have happened in this past year. I NEVER thought I would be living in San Francisco- yet here I am, and for the moment it feels like the right place for me. I learned so many important life lessons that I don't think I would have learned if I didn't put myself in the position of being transplanted across the country {basically} all by myself.

I learned that the world has many beautiful things to offer, and you have to make it a point to see as many of them as you possibly can. I never tired of driving... even after two weeks of zig zagging across the country, I would do it again in a heartbeat. I know I must one day have a house with some property so I can own llamas, and maybe a mini donkey {or four}. I learned that KOA {Kampgrounds of America} is a definite viable option for traveling across the country, and that Palm Springs is not only HOT, but a very cool place that I would like to explore more- especially if it means another stay at the Ace Hotel. I learned that my car {Benny} is a force to be reckoned with... he is such a trooper and I really love him for being super reliable. The sun in California is unbelievable- it's so strong and sets the stage with some unbelievable lighting for pictures. But most importantly, I think I learned that even if things feel out of control and frightening they always work out... even in ways you could have never imagined- there are no coincidences. I can only hope the next year of my life is just as thrilling!

Spotlight: Alexis Russell Jewelry

Back when I lived in New York City and felt the overwhelming need for retail inspiration, I would head over to ABC Carpet & Home. I could get lost in that store for hours {and max out my credit cards}- especially the jewelry section.

So when I was introduced to Alexis Russell Jewelry, I had a momentary trip back to that feeling of overwhelming inspiration. Alexis Russell's jewelry is beautiful, organic, and spot on with unique details. I am head over heels for the raw diamond earrings and hammered gold stacking rings. Alexis Russell would be right at home at ABC. Attention ABC jewelry buyers- get on that!

Spotlight: Mineral Hygienics

I never realized how lucky I was to have perfect skin until one day, it wasn't so perfect anymore. It was like I turned twenty five and everything I had known of my skin went out the window. I was a fish out of water... and I needed to learn, fast. I quickly became a fairly decent makeup artist. I had my go-to products that seemed to do the trick well- or so I thought.

That was until I received an offer to test out a few Mineral Hygienics products. I checked out their website and quickly saw the money-back guarantee and tons of editorial features {Oprah, People, Women's Health to name a few}. I decided I would give it a whirl. When I received my choice shades in the mail, I quickly went into makeup artist mode and went to work playing around with the varying shades. Let me just say- these are honestly the best mineral foundations I have ever used! The coverage is amazing, and so natural looking once you figure out how much you need and then blend it well.

I write this review with the highest regards for Mineral Hygienics and their products. If you are interested- and you should be- The crew over at Mineral Hygienics was nice enough to offer The Inspiration File's readers a 10% discount- code theinspirationfile.

Disclaimer: Mineral Hygienics provided me with samples- I was not paid for this post.

Number One

If I was lucky enough to be attending the Olympics in London, the Number Sixteen hotel would be at the top of the list for my stay. Unique pops of color, mismatched patterns, and luxurious textures should have this hotel renamed Number One.
